Marketed by Aston Martin “for those who seek the thrill of a DB7 GT in the open road, but require the convenience and effortless relaxation of touchtronic automatic transmission around town, DB7 GTA provides the perfect solution”.
DB7 GTA features the 420 bhp 6.0 ltr V12 engine from DB7 Vantage, whilst sporting the uprated chassis, suspension, braking system, distinctive styling features and interior appointment of the DB7 GT, which includes sports seats with extended shoulders, special instrument dials and special climate control knobs and pedals.
The improved braking performance is due to larger & grooved brake discs, higher performance pads, improved brake cooling and an uprated booster system taken from the V12 Vanquish. The suspension improvements to compliment the enhanced braking actually includes uprated dampers, a revised front sub-frame along with firmer bushes, which stiffened the suspension by 20%.
Additionally, the adoption of additional sweeps for the under tray, wheel arch liner extensions and a revised boot lid spoiler aided the car’s aerodynamics (reducing lift by 50%) and emphasised the new, sportier look. The car also featured twin bonnet vents similar to those on the V12 Vanquish for better air-flow management and to help dissipate heat. Also fitted was a distinctive wire mesh radiator grille and a lower air intake.
Inside, the GTA has sports seats, with extended shoulders and lateral bolsters as standard, special Parchment with black instrument dials and clock. The climate control knobs, gear knob, drilled alloy pedal pads and special sill plates are all in satin finish aluminium.
This particular example was first released from manufacture at the end of May 2003 and was first registered in the UK on 1st November later that year. Finished in Tungsten silver metallic with all Charcoal leather interior, Charcoal Alcantara headlining and Carbon fibre veneers.
A rare, low owner, exciting and appreciating vehicle in a great colour combination and with just over 45,000 miles.
