2019 Aston Martin DBS 59 Edition – No. 4
1 of 24 special “Q” Edition DBS Coupes
Chiltern Aston are delighted to bring to market this magnificent DBS 59 Edition which currently forms part of the Chiltern Collection.
‘DBS 59’ was specially commissioned through ‘Q by Aston Martin’ to commemorate 60 years since Aston Martin’s historic 1959 1-2 finish in the DBR-1 at Le Mans.
Limited to just 24 examples, each DBS 59’ represents one hour of this iconic victory in Aston Martin’s history, in which Roy Salvadori and Carol Shelby took the chequered flag ahead of the sister car piloted by Maurice Trintignant and Paul Frère.
Car No. 4 was specifically chosen by the car’s only owner due to its association with the late Sir Stirling Moss OBE who raced DBR-1 No. 4 in that famous race. This connection is emphasised with the car’s ‘MO55 DBS’ registration plate from new.
Uniquely DBS 59’ No. 4 was further specified to detail the chassis & engine number of the No. 4 DBR-1 within a bronze foil inlay on the Aeroblade. The other 23 examples are understood to display the No. 5 car’s chassis & engine number.
Other bespoke enhancements include a period bonnet badge as per the DBR-1. The original DBS 59 Union Jack style bonnet badge is also included with the sale.
This car has covered only 3000 miles with one owner from new.
The AM Racing Green paintwork is in perfect condition and is fully protected with the addition of Paint Protection Film throughout.
Complete with all particulars and official DBS 59 accessories which include; replica heritage racing helmets, 1959 blue race suits and replicas of Carroll Shelby’s race gloves, fitted DBS 59 car cover and leather embroidered luggage bags.
Also with the car are the Le Man 2019 entry tickets from when the car was first handed over at Le Mans in 2019.
The original painting by the artist Martin Tomlinson which was replicated onto the headlining is also available.
This presents a unique opportunity to acquire a pristine, low mileage and highly collectable DBS 59 edition, arguably the most attractive special edition from ‘Q by Aston Martin’.
